In staying true to its mission of promoting and preserving the heritage and culture of Norway, Sons of Norway sponsors and participates in a number of different Norwegian-related events throughout the year.

Sons of Norway/Swiss Miss Barnebirkie
The Barnebirkie, meaning children ’s Birkie, was created in 1987 by Sons of Norway along with the Bill Koch Ski League and the American Birkebeiner Foundation. Today, it is an official event of the Subaru American Birkebeiner, and one of the largest children’s ski events in the world.

Norsk Høstfest
Norsk Høstfest is North America’s largest Scandinavian Festival. Beginning in 2006, Sons of Norway entered into an agreement with Norsk Høstfest to become one of two presenting sponsors of Oslo Hall. This year was also the first year that Sons of Norway and Norwill Food’s Inc. teamed together to bring En To Tre, a Norwegian fine dining experience, to festival attendees.

Nordic American Thanksgiving Breakfast
The purpose of the NATB is to bring together people of Nordic heritage and offer thanks. As part of the Sons of Norway sponsored event, the NATB brings together high profile individuals to speak on the topics of freedom, faith, family and friends. Past speakers have included Former Vice President, Walter Mondale, Patty Wetterling, Pat Miles, Amy Klobuchar, Minneapolis Mayor RT Rybak and Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty.

Sons of Norway Minneloppet
The Sons of Norway sponsored Minneloppet is an annual cross-country children’s ski event held in tandem with the City of the Lakes Loppet.
